Tea time

I'm trying to organize an Afternoon tea (in Dutch: high tea). We did it a while ago and it was really fun. So if you want to try it too, here are some recipes I made before:

Cucumber Sandwiches with dillbutter

Ingredients
  •     ½ cucumber
  •     Salt
  •     1 shallot
  •     Dill
  •     60 g of soft butter
  •     White pepper
  •     8 slights of white bread
  •     Lemon juice
Cut the cucumber in tiny slices and mix them with some salt, some with pepper and the lemon juice. Cut the shallot and the dill and mix them with the butter.  Cover the slights of bread with the butter. Put the cucumber on top of that and but to slights on top of each other.

Ham sandwiches with mustardbutter

Ingredients
  •     1 teaspoon mustard
  •     3 teaspoons of butter
  •     8 slights of white bread
  •     Ham (4 slides)
  •     lettuce
Mix the mustard and the butter. Cover the bread with it. Then cover half of it with ham and lettuce. Put the other half on top of it.

Scones

Ingredients
  • 250g self-rising flour
  • 4 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 65 g butter (cold)
  • 65 g white sugar
  • 125 ml milk
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Mix the self-rising flour, the baking soda and a little bit of salt. Put the butter also in it and mix it with your hand. Unroll it, so the dough is one cm thick. Make approximately 12 scones out of it. Cover them with a little bit of milk and put them in the oven for 15 minutes. While the afternoon tea you can serve them with marmalade and mascarpone/whipped cream.

And you can also buy things like chocolate and that kind of stuff. And off course don't forget the tea. Have fun :).
